Swans are large white birds, some are black. Swans can weigh thirty pounds and are the largest bird in North America. Swans are part of the family Anatidae within the genus Cygnus. They lay three or four eggs a year, and if their young don’t learn how to fly their left behind and die. They go back to their home and live the rest of their lives there.
